THE CHARACTER James is the host of the party. Loud, confident, the kind of guy who takes up space in every room without thinking about it. He was a bully in high school and never really stopped — he just got older. He doesn't remember the people he hurt. That's the whole point. THE SCENE James needs to feel like a real person, not a villain. He is charming enough that you understand why people come to his parties. But there is something underneath it — an ease that comes from never being held accountable for anything. The actor needs to be naturally commanding without trying. Big personality. Short fuse. The kind of guy who laughs the loudest and makes everyone else feel slightly smaller.

Derek WHEN THE PARTY'S OVER Short Film — Dark Comedy / Psychological Drama CASTING CALL — DEREK — Male, 18–22 THE CHARACTER Derek was Colin's best friend. Warm, funny, the kind of person who made everyone around him feel like they belonged. He was the only person who truly understood Colin. The reason Colin ever left the apartment. Derek died from drugs. THE SCENES Derek appears in two scenes. THE PRESENT — Colin hallucinates Derek at the party. They talk the way they always talked — easy, honest, like no time has passed. The actor needs to make the audience feel what Colin lost in the space of one conversation. THE FLASHBACK — The last interaction Colin ever had with Derek. Derek at Colin's front door. Desperate. Begging for help, asking for money. The actor needs to go to a completely different place here — raw, unravelling, not himself.

In de laatste droomsequentie breekt moeder, en raakt ze geëmotioneerd doordat zoon voor zichzelf opkomt. Het is een pre als zo veel mogelijk uiterlijke kenmerken overeenkomen met die van onze lead acteur: - Zwart (krul) haar - Bruine ogen - Witte huid - Een lengte van 1.80 of langer (hoe langer hoe beter) Affiniteit met dans is een pre! WHEN THE PARTY'S OVER Short Film — Dark Comedy / Psychological Drama CASTING CALL — COLIN — Male, 18–22 THE CHARACTER Colin is a 20 year old freshman. He is not the popular kid. He never was. He spent most of his life with one person — his best friend Derek. They studied together, played hockey together. Colin lost Derek to drugs. Colin thinks he is the funniest person in any room. But he knows he is the loneliest. THE SCENES COMEDY — Colin spends the night at a party trying to fit in with strangers. He gets rejected at the front door. He joins a beer pong game and loses spectacularly. He gets high with a group of stoners and says completely the wrong thing. Every attempt to connect fails in a different and embarrassing way. This has to be genuinely funny. The actor needs to be comfortable with physical comedy, awkward silences and speaking directly to camera like it is the only friend he has. EMOTIONAL — Colin ends up alone in an empty room and comes face to face with a hallucination of Derek. They talk. It is the conversation Colin has been running from all night. The scene cuts between the present and a flashback — the last moment Colin ever saw Derek. Derek at his front door, begging for help, asking for money. And Colin on the other side, unable to open it, knowing he cannot save his friend. The actor needs to be completely present, completely honest and able to carry both grief and guilt at the same time.

Rol 1 – NOOR (hoofdrol) Vrouw – ±18–25 jaar Noor is een 19-jarige zweminstructeur in opleiding. Ze is licht ongemakkelijk, rustig en empathisch. Ondanks haar eigen onzekerheid probeert ze Denys te helpen zijn angst voor water te overwinnen. Tijdens het proces ontstaat er een subtiele band tussen hen. Vereisten: * Comfortabel met scènes in en rond een zwembad * Speelt scènes in normale zwemkleding (geen revealing kleding zoals Bikini) * Nederlands sprekend * Subtiel en natuurlijk spel Rol 2 – JORRIT (bijrol) Man – ±45–65 jaar Jorrit is een senior zweminstructeur en de supervisor van Noor. Hij is pragmatisch, droog en enigszins afstandelijk. Vanuit de rand van het zwembad observeert hij de training en vertegenwoordigt hij de meer institutionele kant van de zwemschool. Vereisten: * Nederlands sprekend * Comfortabel met scènes rond een zwembad * Autoritaire en nuchtere uitstraling
