Collaboration sought for social drama

Dear friends, My name is Leili Khodaei. I am a writer and director and have been living in the Netherlands since 2013. Together with Iranian director Leila Norouzi, who currently lives in Turkey, I am developing a social drama as a feature film. Leila Norouzi is an experienced filmmaker who has served on several jury members at international film festivals. Her work has been recognized with several awards in different countries. The film's script was written and completed by me. We are now looking for a producer who can support us in the realization of this project. Although the direction will be mainly in the hands of Leila Norouzi, both the writing and the directing work are a joint effort. The film tells the gripping story of a 45-year-old man in Iran who does everything he can to survive, while bearing responsibilities towards his brother and sister. The concept and the story have already been positively received by renowned directors from both the Netherlands and Turkey. The intended budget for the film is approximately €1,200,000. We are looking for a producer with a strong network at film funds and festivals. The shooting will take place in Turkey, because of the great similarity of the locations with Iranian homes. Maroesja Perizonius has secured a BAFTA nomination for her documentary 'Children of the Cult' (2024). This film, which tells the story of her childhood in the Bhagwan movement, was released in the UK in collaboration with ITV1. The film had previously been nominated for the British RTS Awards (Royal Television Society Awards). “Children of the Cult” is an international investigation into the Rajneesh movement. This was one of the world’s largest and most successful cults, with communes in over 30 countries in the 1970s and 80s. But until now, a central truth about the organization has remained hidden. Filmmaker Maroesja Perizonius, herself a child of the communes, has connected with other former commune children, and together they have decided to change that. Part looking back, part investigating, this film tells the almost unbelievable story of the treatment of children within the cult. Children who grew up separated from their parents in an environment where sex was everywhere and where no boundaries existed. “Children of the Cult” was directed by Maroesja Perizonius and Alice McShane.

Hi Hi, We are looking for enthusiastic creatives who want to participate in the 48h challenge with us! We are Jorien, Andrés and Linda and we know each other from a film course at the Academy for Image Creation in Amsterdam. All three of us are beginning filmmakers and the 48h challenge seems like a fun challenge. We would like to do this together with fellow film enthusiasts!
