Shortcutz Amsterdam is the only initiative in The Netherlands exclusively focussing on promoting new Dutch film talent, and connecting up-and-coming filmmakers with established professionals. We promote new Dutch cinema through our network of over 30 partners – including Eye Film Museum, Pathé cinemas, festivals around the world, and several special affiliated events. Through our weekly sessions at De Kring, we showcase the work of new Dutch film talent, and invite film professionals to share their stories and insight. Filmmakers get the chance to promote their work, talk to their audience, and interact with professionals. Film-lovers have the opportunity to watch films, learn about new talent, and get to know their favourite Dutch filmmakers, All films screened at Shortcutz Amsterdam are watched by a Jury team made up of some of the most respected names of the industry such as: Kubrick’s and Spielberg’s executive producer: Jan Harlan; actor Rutger Hauer; actor Tygo Gernandt; director Roel Reiné; actress Ariane Schluter; director Eddy Terstall; producer Jeroen Koolbergen, producer Jan Doense aka Mr. Horror, actor Vincent van Ommen, producer Harmen Jalvingh, Nederlands Film Festival programmer Claire van Daal, EYE senior programmer and head of acquisitions René Wolf, and street-artist Laser 3.14. In the beginning of the year we organise the Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards. At this ceremony we will be honouring the new Dutch cinema, bringing highlights to the new talents of the country and the short films they have created in the past year, which we showcased, in our weekly sessions. The 4th Shortcutz Amsterdam Annual Awards ceremony will be on the 23rd of January 2017 at EYE, Cinema 1. Every year we host a different type of awards ceremony in which everybody is a winner. . To promote this we invite inspiring film personalities to deliver a speech to inspire the new generation. This way, everybody takes something home with them - a good dose of inspiration.
