Filming for Het Hart van Hadiah Tromp has started. Chloé Leenheer & Valentijn Benard play the lead roles in the TV film directed by Erik de Bruyn. The screenplay was written by Erik de Bruyn and Edward Stelder, the producer is IJswater Films, and the co-producing public broadcaster is AVROTROS. Filming will take place at various locations in the Netherlands and Germany until the end of April.

From the director of Wilde mossels and J. Kessels comes a story about loyalty, love, and something else, to make you laugh. Het Hart van Hadiah Tromp is a romantic comedy with musical elements, set in a (fictional) naval world.

The young and talented actress Chloé Leenheer (Hadiah Tromp) has appeared in TV series such as Zusjes, Bluf, and Heer & Meester, and the Telefilm Lellebelle. She also appeared in the feature films De Nobelprijswinnaar and Sterke verhalen, and in the theater in War Horse. Her co-star is the new talent Valentijn Benard (Officer Paul Borremans), who is currently appearing as Erik Hazelhoff Roelfzema in the musical Soldaat van Oranje. Other cast members include Peter Heerschop, Jacqueline Blom, Mike Weerts, Melody Klaver, Eva Layla Schipper, Jade Olieberg, Puck Pomelien Busser, Andre Dongelmans, Manoushka Zeegelaar Breeveld, Korneel Evers, Genelva Krind, Sjaak-Pieter van Es, and Donnya Zidan.

Director/co-screenwriter Erik de Bruyn made his debut in 2000 with Wilde mossels (Dutch Critics' Prize, Russian Film Critic Award, CJP Youth Prize, Golden Calf nomination for Best Screenplay). With IJswater Films, he made the short films Een meisje uit duizend and De getuige (Golden Calf nomination for Best Short Film, IFF Montecatini Best Short Film Award). Nadine, his second feature film, was the opening film at the 2007 Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival. This was followed in 2011 by De president (Best Comedy Feature at Tiburon IFF). De Bruyn created the successful AVRO series De troon and directed episodes of Deadline, Van God los, and Smeris. J. Kessels, his latest feature film, opened the 2015 Netherlands Film Festival, won a Golden Calf for Best Production Design, the Best Production Design Award at the Chicago IFF, and Best Feature at the Turin Film Festival. In 2016, De Bruyn directed the Telefilm Hope (AVROTROS). He also made the documentaries Gitaarjongens and Racoon: Blue Days Song Days.

IJswater Films produced feature films such as De Poolse bruid, Diep, Lotus, Supernova, and Of ik gek ben, and the TV films Skin (Golden Calf for Best Actor), Win/Win (Prix Genève-Europe Best Script), and De nieuwe wereld (Emmy Award for Best Actress).

Het Hart van Hadiah Tromp is being produced as part of the Telefilm Project and is expected to be broadcast by AVROTROS in February 2018 as part of New Dutch Films on NPO3. Telefilms are feature films for television that address current themes. The co-productions between independent producers and the public broadcaster receive financial support from CoBO, the project's implementing body.
