The first NBF networking drinks of the new year are just around the corner! On Monday, February 27, we will discuss a topic that is currently attracting a great deal of attention: portrait rights.

The question of when you are or are not allowed to film someone arises with some regularity. Currently, everyone is talking about Patricia Paay and the question of whether publishing that particular video is actually permitted. How do you, as a creator, deal with portrait rights? How does it work in relation to posting images on the internet, and when is the protection of privacy more important than freedom of expression?

At the NBF networking reception, Mr. Remco Klöters – Van Kaam IP en Media – will provide clarity on these and other questions regarding portrait rights through a short presentation and discussion with the audience. Remco Klöters has extensive (litigation) experience in the field of portrait rights and knows both sides of the coin, having frequently represented both the media and the subjects themselves as a lawyer.

Dinner deal
Attendees of the NBF networking drinks can take advantage of a special dinner deal. There is a choice between a one-course menu (€13.50) and a two-course menu (€19.50), to be paid for at the bar upon arrival. Dinner will be served at 18:30 in the Kring restaurant. You can indicate via Eventbrite if you would like to take advantage of the dinner deal. Registrations must be received no later than Friday, February 24.
