IN SEARCH OF AL-QAEDA
by Bud Wichers and Joost Wierenga
"A search for terrorists..."
On Friday, February 12, 2010, at 8:00 PM, the documentary “In search of Al-Qaeda” will be screened for the first time at De Brink (next to the church) in Gorssel. This preview is exclusively for the documentary’s collaborators and close friends, and of course, all interested people are warmly welcome. “In search of Al-Qaeda” is the latest short documentary by Bud Wichers, assisted by Joost Wierenga.
The previous documentary about Iraq dates back to 2006: “Innocence Interrupted” by Bud Wichers, who hails from Gorssel. That year, he set out to investigate what life was like in Iraq after Saddam Hussein's regime. This yielded unique, raw, and confronting footage. He presents a clear picture of reality, which he calls 'a life as it is documentary'.
Various media worldwide reported in early January 2010 on possible planned Al-Qaeda attacks in Europe and America. The British government even raised the terror alert to 'critical'. Following the failed attack on a flight between Amsterdam and Detroit last December, the Dutch security services are also on the highest state of alert.
“In search of Al-Qaeda” offers a unique insight into how intelligence agencies collaborate to apprehend the most feared terrorists. Bud and Joost have ventured into locations declared inaccessible to most journalists. Once again, you can expect exceptional material featuring confronting images of the reality in Iraq.
After the documentary, which lasts approximately half an hour, even more exceptional footage will be shown. This footage was not used in the documentary, but is certainly worth seeing. Afterwards, there will of course be an opportunity to exchange ideas over a drink.

Hoofdstraat 27, Gorssel
