On Wednesday evening, January 6, IKON will broadcast the documentary 'BLOODY MONDAYS & STRAWBERRY PIES' by Coco Schrijber in the documentary program Holland Doc. The film was awarded a Golden Calf in 2008 as best feature documentary and was acclaimed at international film festivals last year.

BLOODY MONDAYS & STRAWBERRY PIES is a film about boredom and the lost ability to do nothing. The intriguing emotion of boredom, which can be both positive and negative, forces us to consider why we do what we do. The film argues against dispelling boredom with countless external stimuli, but rather recommends surrendering to it in order to fathom yourself and your true desires.

The storylines of the main characters—a young man from Doetinchem, a 45-year-old woman who shot children out of boredom at age 16, a Wall Street trader, a desert nomad, and a man who has been painting Time for 42 years—are interwoven. Their unity is reinforced by the vision of the existence of the person bored to the bone, narrated by John Malkovich. This text is composed of sentences from Dostoevsky's *Memoirs of Underground* and Bret Easton Ellis's *American Psycho*.
