The feature film WHEN THE FUCKING LENTE KOMT by Danyael Sugawara has been selected for the When East Meets West co-production forum in late January 2014. The forum takes place in Trieste and is organized by the Trieste Film Festival and FVG Audiovisual Fonds in collaboration with EAVE, Eurimages, and MEDIA. 22 projects were chosen from over 200 submissions.

WHEN THE FUCKING SPRING COMES is written by Heleen Suer and Danyael Sugawara and will also be directed by the latter. It is a feel-good road film about a seventeen-year-old Polish 'orphan' who goes in search of money and an explanation from her biological parents.
This topical subject was already one of the twelve selected projects of the prestigious EKRAN workshop at the Andrzej Wajda Studio in Poland in 2010.

After graduating with great success from film school in 2004 with his graduation film THE QUIET ONE, Danyael toured with his film in both Clermont-Ferrand and Busan. Following this, he made the one-night stand LIEFDE, DANK JE WEL and his first feature film ALLES STROOMT in 2010. This film won various awards, including a Golden Calf, the Audience Award, and the White Iris Award for Best European Feature Film Debut in Brussels.

WHEN THE FUCKING LENTE COMES is produced by NFI MOTION PICTURES, which was previously responsible for CAN THROUGH SKIN and the feature film CORNEA, the upcoming debut of Jochem de Vries.

The project WHEN THE FUCKING SPRING COMES is supported by the Netherlands Film Fund and MEDIA and will be a co-production with both Germany and Poland. The film is expected to be shot in Germany, Poland, and the Netherlands in the winter of 2014.
