The chance to realize your film ambitions and prove your writing talent!

What we already have: An anonymous Scenario X.

Who we already have: Jeroen Koolbergen of Cadenza Films and Daan Starrenburg of Back2Back Productions as producers, and the acclaimed Rudolf van den Berg (Tirza, Süskind) who will direct the feature film.

Who we are still looking for: A talented writer with the finishing touch. Someone who can take Scenario X to the next level. Experience is not required, but talent and creativity are.

How it works:

Phase 1: Apply by sending your CV and motivation letter (max. 1 A4) to [email protected] before December 9. In your motivation letter, you must outline your vision on screenwriting, and at the same time, your writing talent must be evident.
Subsequently, a selection is made from the applications by the jury, consisting of Rudolf van den Berg, Daan Starrenburg (Back2Back Productions), and Jeroen Koolbergen (Cadenza Films).

Phase 2: In phase 2, the selected candidates are sent scenario X to their homes, along with a number of questions about how the scenario can be improved. Based on the answers, a new selection is made by the jury.

Phase 3: The five writers remaining in Phase 3 will receive a screenwriting masterclass from Rudolf van den Berg in mid-January at Amsterdam's most creative and inspiring coffee shop: Quartier Putain. Afterwards, the remaining five writers will further develop the scripts under the guidance of Rudolf van den Berg, Daan Starrenburg, and Jeroen Koolbergen.

Phase 4: The Grand Finale. The jury selects the best screenplay, which is actually made into a film. Quartier Putain | Top Notch Coffee offers wonderfully fragrant prizes to the runners-up and third-place winners.

The competition is only for students/course participants of the Schrijversvakschool Amsterdam and VERS members (membership will only be checked after December 9).

No objection or appeal is possible against the jury's decision. There will be no correspondence regarding the competition conditions and the results.
Registration implies automatic acceptance of these competition terms and conditions.
