As an independent professional in the film/TV sector, you naturally want to create beautiful things and work on the best productions, preferably earning enough money to make ends meet. But what if you have an accident and can no longer work? Or are so ill for an extended period that you can no longer be on set? Unfortunately, as a self-employed entrepreneur, you often lack the financial safety net that you have as an employee. At this NBF networking event, we will delve into this less enjoyable but nonetheless important aspect of independent entrepreneurship as a filmmaker or TV maker. Is it really necessary to insure yourself against this risk, why is disability insurance so expensive, and what alternatives are there?

We will discuss this with several experts in the field of disability insurance and the Broodfonds. There will also be extensive attention paid to real-life stories, and individuals participating in the Filmbroodfonds will share their experiences. After the program, there will be an opportunity to ask the experts present for advice. So be sure to come along and bring your colleagues too!

The Bread Fund - Biba Schoenmaker
The Broodfonds is a disability insurance scheme for self-employed entrepreneurs. It is a responsible and affordable alternative to regular insurance. The Broodfonds operates as a donation circle. Anyone who falls ill receives a donation from all participants. This amount is intended to cover basic living expenses, a fundamental provision. The participants are responsible for its administration.

Meeùs Media - Peter van der Steeg & Jos Walraven
Meeùs is a respected advisory organization in the Netherlands in the fields of insurance, risk management, pensions, and mortgages. Their division, Meeùs Media, specializes in insurance solutions for the multimedia world, such as (AV) equipment, film productions, cast & crew, events, and theater shows. In the presentation, they will delve deeper into the risks for entrepreneurs in the AV sector and disability insurance.

Dinner deal
The LAB111 restaurant is offering an attractive and affordable dinner deal especially for the NBF networking drinks: for €17.50, you get a starter and main course including a glass of wine.
