During today's closed Film Summit, representatives from the Ministries of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) and Economic Affairs (EZ) are in dialogue with representatives from the media sector. However, no filmmakers or representatives of filmmakers themselves have been admitted to this important meeting. It boils down to the fact that the entire media industry is represented, with the exception of the creators of the content upon which this entire industry is based.

The Film Summit addresses the following topics: the exploration of economic stimulus measures and the role of operators in financing film and television production. Subject to discussion is how cash flows will operate, how revenues will be distributed, and who benefits from them. These are topics connected to the copyright—or at least the remuneration for it—of creators, and which therefore have a direct impact on the financial position of the creators, without them having had the opportunity to express their views on this matter.

The absent industry organizations DDG (directors) and Netwerk Scenarioschrijvers (screenwriters) have reportedly chosen not to take action due to the sensitivity of film industry leaders and the interests at stake for the entire film industry. Consequently, due to various complex interests, no publicity was deliberately sought regarding this notable exclusion.
