From May 8 to 12, one of the largest transgender film festivals in the world takes place in Amsterdam: TranScreen. For men, women, and... advanced viewers.

The first edition took place at De Balie in 2011. This year, TranScreen is setting up shop at Het Ketelhuis and Filmhuis Cavia. Once again, around 50 recent films will be screened, all of which will thoroughly shake up your perception of what is masculine/feminine. Five days of arthouse films, road films, documentaries, blockbusters, experimental animation, short films, and even porn...
Diversity, drag, gender, activism, debate, parties, and an exhibition. New this year is the exhibition "Lost & Found: Transgender Image-making," which can be seen on the 6th floor of the Amsterdam Public Library from April 19 to July 21.
