Yesterday afternoon, the shoot for the film Flight of Life by director Elbe Stevens (Anatole, Behind the Wall) was completed in Maastricht. After days of filming in Bunde, Heerlen, and Cadier en Keer, the final shots were filmed today in a beautiful building near the Vrijthof.

Flight of Life is a short film that follows a young couple in their final moments before a severe car accident. The film is a cross-cut between the accident, their last moments together, and moments from their love story.

The lead roles in Flight of Life are played by dancers Joost Vrouenraets and Maite Guerin of the renowned dance company Gotra. Director of Photography Rolf Dekens (Vet Hard, 't Schaep met de 5 Pooten) uses the camera as a form of choreography in itself.

Flight of Life premieres on April 6. This coming Friday, Stevens begins filming for the short film Voorbij, starring Gaite Jansen, Egbert-Jan Weber, and Susan Visser. Both films are produced by Elbe Stevens and Bijker Film & TV.
