Marco van Geffen's second feature film receives French subsidy.

It was announced last month that the feature film In Jouw Naam is receiving a grant from the prestigious French Cinema du Monde. The lead roles in Marco van Geffen's second feature film are played by Barry Atsma (Komt een Vrouw bij de Dokter, Loft) and Lotte Verbeek (Nothing Personal, The Borgias), who replaces the previously announced Elise Schaap.

Due to a shift in the filming period, Elise Schaap is no longer available. Director Marco van Geffen commented on this change: 'It is very unfortunate that Elise is no longer available, but we are very happy and proud that Lotte is willing to take on the role.'

In Your Name is one of fourteen international projects, and the only Dutch project, to receive funding from Cinema du Monde in France. Cinema du Monde is a new fund of the Institut Français and the French fund CNC, which in previous years awarded funding to RU There by David Verbeek and Goltzius by Peter Greenaway.

The feature film is the second part of the trilogy, titled VINEX, that Marco van Geffen is making about 'the drama of the happy family'. In Your Name tells the story of a successful couple who are overjoyed when their first child is born. But the budding happiness, which is meant to be the crowning glory of their love, simultaneously makes them extremely vulnerable.

Marco van Geffen writes screenplays and previously directed various short films, including *Het Zusje*, for which he secured a Golden Palm nomination at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007. His feature film debut and the first part of the trilogy, *Onder Ons*, had its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival in 2011, where the film immediately won two awards. *Onder Ons* was subsequently screened at many international film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and the Hong Kong International Film Festival.

The screenplay was written by Jolein Laarman, who also wrote the screenplay for Onder Ons. Jolein Laarman has written scripts for, among others, Kauwboy, Tussenstand, and Het Zusje van Katia (winner of the Golden Calf for Best Screenplay 2008).

In Your Name is produced by Lemming Film in co-production with Kino Elektron (France) and A Private View (Belgium); the film is being made with the support of the Netherlands Film Fund. International sales are handled by the French sales agent Elle Driver. Distributor Cinéart is expected to release the film in Dutch cinemas in 2013.
