The young filmmaker Hidde van Koningsveld (16) has previously been praised for his social commitment. Last year he produced a short documentary about Greek fellow citizens: GREEKONOMICS. This recently won second prize at the National Online Film Festival for School Students.

For his next project, a feature film, Van Koningsveld focuses his attention on his peers. 'Jongste zegt nee' (Youngest Says No) is based on the book of the same name by Angela Mastwijk. It is about a depressed teenager who stops eating. 'But above all,' says the filmmaker, 'about how this boy solves his problems. It will be an optimistic film with which I hope to show young people that a happy ending does indeed exist.'

Naturally, money is needed to make the film, and Van Koningsveld has opted for crowdfunding. His project has been listed on www.voordekunst.nl since October 17, 2012, a website where art projects in development seek additional funding. "'Jongste zegt nee' will premiere in the summer of 2014," says Van Koningsveld.
