The documentary *Op z'n Hollands*, directed by Piet-Harm Sterk and produced by Stetz Film, will have its television premiere on Wednesday, July 11, at 11:30 AM on RTV Rijnmond. The film, about the decision-making process surrounding Maasvlakte 2, marks the start of the special broadcast of the closing ceremony. With a spectacular show developed and produced by Stetz, HM the Queen will give the signal to close the gap in the dike by pumping sand. This official closing of the new sea defense will be broadcast live on Wednesday, July 11, from 1:45 PM by the NOS on Nederland 2 and by RTV Rijnmond. With the closing of this final section of the sea defense in the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands is 20 km² larger and Maasvlakte 2 is a reality.

In Dutch style
More than 150 individuals and representatives of interest groups were involved in the complex procedures surrounding the construction of Maasvlakte 2. In the documentary *Op z'n Hollands*, director Piet-Harm Sterk exposes this fascinating decision-making process. He observes the everyday lives of those involved and makes their divergent interests palpable. For instance, Petra, as chair of *De Verontruste Bewoners van Voorne* (The Concerned Residents of Voorne), fights for the preservation of the quality of her living environment, while inland skipper Theo primarily sees growth opportunities for his company. Mayor Opstelten promotes his port with passion, and eel fisherman Jan wonders what his future will hold if he is forced to stop fishing. A little further afield, project manager Dennis is tasked with building a world port in distant Oman that can rival that of Rotterdam—a completely opposite reality in another part of the world.

The closure of the sea defense of Maasvlakte 2
The closure of the sea defenses of Maasvlakte 2, also known as the Second Maasvlakte, is a major land reclamation project for the development of the Port of Rotterdam. The port area will expand by 20%, and the Dutch coastline will extend approximately 3.5 km further into the sea. The Maasvlakte 2 sea defenses have a total length of 11 kilometers. The project is regarded as a new example of 'Dutch glory' in hydraulic engineering.

Live broadcast by NOS and RTV Rijnmond
The regional broadcaster RTV Rijnmond will provide live coverage of the closing event throughout the day. Additionally, the closing of the sea defenses and the ceremony will be broadcast live by the NOS on Wednesday, July 11, between 13:45 and 14:45 on Nederland 2 and from 19:30 to 19:55 on Nederland 1.
