On 3 June 2012, the short film festival Utopia Amsterdam will take place in Kriterion in Amsterdam. The starting point of the festival is to provide a platform for young filmmakers. The filmmakers have until May 21 to send in a film with a maximum duration of 5 minutes. The films are judged by a jury of experts. The ten best-rated films will be screened at the festival on June 3 in a sold-out Kriterion.

The film that is judged best by the public on the day of the festival will be broadcast on AT5.
