Doc Next Network, representing a new generation of European filmmakers, presents a series of short documentaries during IDFA 2011: personal reflections on daily life in Europe, seen through the eyes of do-it-yourself media makers who are not traditionally trained and use new accessible media, online distribution channels, and innovative forms of storytelling. The ten Doc Next documentaries in total will be screened prior to the main films during IDFA (November 16–27).

As part of the Doc Next Network program @ IDFA 2011, the Doc Next Industry Panel presents a debate on the question of whether "the documentary industry is past its peak."
