Dark clouds are hanging over the animation sector. State Secretary Halbe Zijlstra's new cultural policy has major consequences for the continued existence of the Netherlands Institute for Animation Film (NIAf), and consequently for the entire Dutch animation sector. We cannot simply let this happen!

Actions have been held in various places across the country to protest against the budget cuts. The NIAf, together with the animation sector, also wants to make its voice heard. Our protest takes the form of an animated protest march. Movement is the essence of animation. The various drawings or frames of an animation have little meaning in themselves, but combined they form a moving whole, just as a hundred walkers together form a march.

We desperately need your help to make this march a reality! Help us give the animation sector a voice by sharing a 'walk cycle'. The collected walk cycles can be viewed on the website www.animationmarch.nl and together form an animated protest march (check this website for more information as well).

How do I participate?
1. Choose a walking cycle (This can be a new or an existing walking cycle)
2. Then submit your walking cycle via our FTP server. (for more info email: (Sandra Muller))
3. Or send us the film via Wetransfer (Sandra Muller)
