The electronic music festival Off Center & Melkweg present the Dutch premiere of KanZeOn, a special documentary exploring the central role of sound in Japanese (Buddhist) rituals. The hypnotic 'soundscapes' are centuries old but at the same time timeless and have striking parallels with contemporary (electronic) music. The film was made by young British directors/producers Neil Cantwell & Tim Grabham, the latter of whom is also present at the screening.
