The Day of Commissioned Films will be held again this year during the week in which the Netherlands Film Festival takes place.

On Thursday, September 29, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, fourteen commissioned films will be screened, with a specific purpose and a defined target audience. The (short) films and animations are educational and entertaining.

A selection of the participants: Marieke Helmus made a film for the Psychosis Department of the AMC as part of the Timely Recognition of Psychosis awareness campaign.
From the trade journal PSY: "What makes *Als alles bijzonder wordt* special is that we have managed to visualize the hallucinations. It shows viewers what it is like to experience psychosis and how someone can become entangled in their delusions. Although most educational films are often quite boring, we have turned this into a very exciting and stimulating story. The theater sets we used complete the picture." Metropolisfilm made a cheerful film for the Tropenmuseum about Indian dance, and Metafoormedia from Friesland explains in a clear animated way what BIM is and how it is used to reduce the enormous failure costs in the construction industry. Furthermore, work by Zcene Moving Media Company, Stetz, and MCW, among others, is on display—all belonging to the top of Dutch commissioned film producers.

The afternoon concludes with "A Timeless Mystery," a film by Pieter-Rim de Kroon made for Nolet Distillery. Filmed on three continents, the film tells the story of Nolet's history. Normally, the film is only shown to a select group in America and in the specially designed state-of-the-art cinema in Nolet's windmill in Schiedam.

Tickets are available at the door and cost 5 euros; sales start at 12:00 PM (while supplies last). Afterwards, you can meet the producers over drinks in the theater café.
