The Netherlands Film Fund invests in sustainability and supports the Green Film Making Competition!

The Green Film Making Competition challenges filmmakers to produce a short fiction film as sustainably as possible. The goal of the competition is to inspire the Dutch film industry to operate more sustainably.

This competition is an initiative of the sustainable collective Strawberry Earth in collaboration with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture & Innovation. The finalists of the competition can count on a substantial starting amount from the Netherlands Film Fund to finance their film. In addition, they stand a chance to win the grand prize of 20,000 euros. The Film Fund will also be part of the competition's expert jury.

How can you participate?
Submit an initial film plan (1 A4) by September 8 via this link: http://www.strawberryearth.com/greenfilmmaking/apply/
Afterwards, the best entries will be selected, and you will have a chance to participate in the green film making workshops on October 12, 13, and 14. Here you will get acquainted with
(inter)national experts in the field of film and sustainability, and we help you on your way with a sustainable film production.

After the workshops, you submit a comprehensive film plan, after which six finalists are selected by an expert jury. Subsequently, the finalists begin making the film with support from the Netherlands Film Fund.

Thekla Reuten
Actress Thekla Reuten is an ambassador for the Green Film Making Competition.
She is the face of the competition for a year. In this way, Thekla is personally committed to sustainability behind the scenes.
