The book 'A Summer Without Sleep' by Bram Dehouck is being adapted into a film. Shooting Star Filmcompany has optioned the film rights. Tallulah H. Schwab is the intended director.

Last year, Dehouck won the Schaduwprijs and the Gouden Strop for his debut, 'De Minzame Moordenaar'. The sequel, which may now be adapted into a film, has been nominated for the Hercule Poirot Prize. The jury speaks of 'masterful sketches' and 'rich in suggestions'.

Windmills

A Summer Without Sleep, Dehouck's second book that is now set to be adapted into a film, is about butcher Herman Bracke, who becomes so weary of windmills in his neighborhood that he loses his temper. And in doing so, he sets something irreversible in motion.

Shooting Star

Shooting Star Filmcompany is known for its adaptations of Kruimeltje and Pietje Bell. The latest Shooting Star film was 'Sonny Boy'. In September, filming begins on the thriller Cop vs Killer, based on the book by Simon de Waal.
