For the Film course at IMC Weekendschool Utrecht, I am looking for passionate actors, camera operators, and many directors for 2 SUNDAYS, namely Sunday, May 29 and Sunday, June 5.

Schedule for the day:
11:00-11:15 daily opening with the class without guest lecturers
11:15-11:45 Introduction of the actor, director, camera operator (and possibly scriptwriter), who briefly talk about their profession, and the students can ask questions.
11:45-12:30 2 workshop rounds of 20 min (3 groups of 8 students visit the 3 guest lecturers in 3 workshop rounds.
12:30-13:00 BREAK
13:00-13:20 3rd workshop round
13:20-14:00 in 5 groups of 6 students, using the Film workbook, brainstorm what the short film should be about that they will make over the next two Sundays with directors (who will edit it themselves at home; by the way, I am still looking for those directors, at least two!!!).
14:00-14:15 Each group tells the class what their video is about, thank the guest lecturers.
14:15-14:30 wrap-up with the class without guest lecturers
14:30 students go home, evaluation of the day with the guest lecturers!

A director talks about his profession, and it might be fun for the students to do an assignment during the workshop (for example, something like how to act a scene and what the director pays attention to).

On both of the following Sundays, the 5 groups with 5 directors will make their short films at school or at a location near the school. Naturally, a supervisor from the school will also be present. The directors will edit the films at home (DV tapes). I will have the films put onto a single DVD, and they will be screened on Sunday, June 19, at the Louis Hartlooper Complex in Utrecht for the students, parents, and sponsors (and guest lecturers and supervisors, of course!).

IMC Weekendschool has been in existence for 13 years and has 9 branches in the Netherlands. For three years, children from disadvantaged neighborhoods voluntarily attend school on Sundays, where they receive lessons from professionals on various professions (medicine, law, journalism, architecture, theater, politics, entrepreneurship, visual arts, etc.). This allows them to learn where their talents and qualities lie, what they can become, broaden their horizons, and boost their self-confidence. IMC Weekendschool is sponsored and can only exist thanks to the dedication of volunteers—people who passionately share knowledge and experience through assignments and practical examples (for instance: the subject of law is taught at school for three Sundays by lawyers, judges, prosecutors, and court clerks, and on the fourth Sunday, the class goes on an excursion to the courthouse where they handle a prepared case while wearing robes!).
