The European Film Academy is pleased to announce the three animated films competing in the category EUROPEAN FILM ACADEMY ANIMATED FEATURE FILM 2010 (Best European Animated Film).

The nominated films are:

PLANET 51 (Spain, UK)
Directed by: Jorge Blanco
Co-directed by Javier Abad and Marcos MartÃÆ'Ânez

SAMMY'S ADVENTURES: THE SECRET PASSAGE (Belgium)
Directed by: Ben Stassen

THE ILLUSIONIST (UK, France)
Directed by: Sylvain Chomet

The jury consisted of EFA Board Members Per Holst (producer, Denmark) and Antonio Saura (producer, Spain), and representatives of CARTOON, the European Association of Animation Film, Mark Baker (animation film director, UK), Giuseppe Lagana (animation film director, Italy), and Serge Siritzky (publisher of Ecran Total, France).

The 2,300 EFA Members will determine the final winner, who will be announced during the European Film Awards Ceremony on Saturday, December 4 in Tallinn, Estonia.

The European Film Awards are presented by the European Film Academy eV and EFA Productions gGmbH with the support of European Capital of Culture Tallinn 2011, the Ministry of Culture of Estonia, the City of Tallinn, the Estonian Cultural Endowment, Enterprise Estonia, Estonian Public Broadcasting, Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, and BDG.
