This year, the NFF is screening several new international films in which Dutch cast and crew members have worked.
Also showing is A Letter from Helga by Icelandic director Ása Helga Hjörleifsdóttir, a special Icelandic-Dutch co-production in which many Dutch crew members participated.
Cinematography is by Jasper Wolf in collaboration with colorist Laurens Orij, camera assistant Pancsi Puts, and gaffer Bram van Woudenberg. Sound was handled by Oliver Pattinama and Pieter van Huijstee Jr. Hair and make-up were provided by Evalotte Oosterop and Iris Bosman.

A Letter from Helga is an ode to the overwhelmingly beautiful Icelandic landscape, which, in all its wildness, forms the ideal backdrop for the equally stormy and painful love story of Bjarni and Helga. Based on the 2010 novel of the same name by Bergsveinn Birgisson.

The film won two Eddas (the Icelandic Golden Calf) for best acting performances.
The film premiered at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival, after which it was selected by the Seattle and Santa Barbara International Film Festivals in the USA. In the Netherlands, the film has been selected for Film by the Sea in Vlissingen and will also be screened during the NFF on September 23 at 4:00 PM.

Dutch producers Dirk Rijneke and Mildred van Leeuwaarden (Rotterdam Films), who are attached to the project, will be present at the Q&A afterwards and talk about the special collaboration with Iceland.
