URGENT! Looking for Actors/Actresses for Student Short Film
We are casting 2 main actors, 1 supporting role and some extra's.
Main character 1:
Thom (man 19 - 25)
Character profile: Charming, well presented, persuasive, has a habit of thinking he owns stuff/knows everything AKA narcissistic/egocentric; He loses his “cool guy” persona when under pressure (he doesn’t like to be humble); He likes to be in control but at the same time he is insecure but hides it very well (typical narcissist).
Backstory: Divorced parents with an absent mother (he has lived with his father most of the time); The mother is a workaholic, doesn't have time for him; She has no mother instincts aside wanting her child to be a better version of everyone else – almost same characteristics as a narcissistic and egocentric person // The father is very strict but does show care and love occasionally; He wants his son to be a professional athlete while the mother wants something else - he is thorn between the two. Most of his life was “living in a toxic household” so he kind of wants to be loved and cared, wants to treat people good but because of his toxic learned nature he has a hard time dealing with his emotions, wants and needs.
Main character 2:
Name: Liz (Elizabeth) (women 19 - 25)
Characterization: Grounded, independent, unapologetically honest, wise and kind of nerdy
Character pofile: Her directness and straightforwardness sometimes clash with Thom's more ego-driven attitude. She is intelligent, perceptive, and emotionally mature. She has no tolerance for playing games, and her unflinching honesty often forces Thom to confront uncomfortable truths about himself. She is secure in her own skin, and unlike Thom, she doesn’t feel the need to manipulate or control others to validate her worth. While she has her own insecurities, she doesn’t hide them in the way Thom does.
Backstory: Stable household – academic parents; overachievers but generally very nice and pleasant people. She is used to pleasing them with good achievements so that plays a role in her “people pleaser” persona. A motivated, humble and realistic person – doesn't really believe in fate or karma. Used to always being the best but also easily accepts when things don’t go according to plan. Chess has always been the one thing she is good at/her main interest since childhood. Her parents always made her do a lot of extracurricular activities.
Supporting role:
Sign up lady (women 40 - 60)
We need a Sign up lady where Thom can interact with in order for him to sign up. you will have a few basic lines in 1 scene.
Extra's:
we are looking for some extra's who will be playing chess in the background during the scenes aswell as standing in the background.
